Ethereum reserve on Binance drops to its six-month low with over 10 million ETH withdrawn from the exchange in just three days.
Ethereum has printed a sharp drop in its reserves on the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, drawing attention from market analysts.
The trend has come at an unusual time, as the latest data from crypto analytics platform CryptoQuant shows that withdrawals on the exchange have climbed significantly while its price is facing a sharp correction.
According to the data, Ethereum reserves on Binance fell from 3.57 million ETH to 3.47 million ETH within just three days, with over 100,000 ETH withdrawn in such a short period.
While this suggests that more ETH tokens are rapidly leaving the exchange, the sharp decline in the Ethereum reserves has seen it fall to its lowest level in the last six months.
Although a decrease in reserves prints a bullish outlook for the concerned crypto asset, as it typically indicates increased withdrawals from exchanges, the reverse is currently the case for Ethereum.
Rather than a rally, the sharp decline in the Binance Ethereum reserves came when the asset is facing mounting selling pressure across the broader crypto market, with its price suddenly dropping to $2,400 from a recent high of over $2,700.
The sudden increase in Ethereum withdrawals while its price is facing a downturn could suggest that traders are making entries amid the market dip to buy the asset at lower prices.
Notably, the data shows that the decline extends a broader trend that began in August, when reserves stood at about 3.92 million ETH.
While reserves have now fallen by about 11.5% since then, the trend could potentially ease immediate selling pressure for Ethereum when demand returns, positioning it for a stronger rally if sentiment flips.
