Cardano (ADA) is about to experience its first major golden cross of 2026. The daily chart moving averages are just days from converging.

The daily MA 50 is steadily rising and is on the verge of crossing the daily MA 200 to form a golden cross, a bullish sign. If it is confirmed, this will be Cardano’s first golden cross of 2026. Cardano’s last golden cross was in August 2025, when the ADA price reached $0.92 for a short time. Cardano then went on to have a series of lower highs between $0.83 and $0.92 for the next few months before a price dip and a daily death cross in November 2025.

A death cross was completed on the weekly chart in May 2026, the opposite of a golden cross, which occurs when the MA 50 drops below the MA 200 and is viewed as a bearish signal.

ADA was trading up 8% in the last 24 hours to $0.256 at the time of writing, as several altcoins posted significant gains on a daily and weekly basis. Bitcoin’s price has gone sideways, and altcoins are benefiting as a consequence. CoinMarketCap’s altcoin season index has a reading of 58 out of 100.

The rotation follows the pattern of previous cycles, in which capital moves into more speculative bets once Bitcoin has rallied and is consolidating. ADA remains up 21% weekly.

If the golden cross is confirmed on the daily chart, one potential scenario is that Cardano extends its current rally. ADA began to rally from a low of $0.19 on September 16, 2026. The rise surpassed the daily MA 50 and 200 at $0.206 and $0.214, respectively.

Cardano pushed to an intraday high of $0.258 early Friday, with potential short-term targets at $0.28 and $0.30 in case the rally advances. $0.42 may come into view in the scenario where intense buying pressure lifts the price.

A second scenario is a false breakout where ADA’s move above the daily MAs is not sustained, sending the price back below the moving averages. Such a move would weaken the golden cross signal and could leave ADA trading sideways.

Third, there is a consolidation scenario where ADA completes the golden cross but then stays within a sideways trading environment.
