Cardano (ADA) has fallen over the past year, down 68% on a 1-year basis according to data from CoinGecko. Cardano is in the green on the shorter timeframes (7, 14, and 30 days); the 1-year timeframe is the only one showing notable losses.

ADA fell from September 2025 to June 2026, marking only 1 green month (April 2026) out of 10.

The decline started after Cardano fell from $0.954 in September 2025 to $0.138 in June 2026 and caused a loss of the weekly MA 50 at $0.451. Since July, ADA price has rebounded, on track for its third straight month of gains if September closes in the positive.

Optimism surrounds October and it’s generally viewed as a positive month for crypto assets.

But Cardano has a different history to tell: Cardano fell more than 17% in October 2018 but rose 6.19% in October 2019. In October 2020, Cardano fell 8.27% and in October 2021 it fell 7%. ADA was down 6.22% in October 2022 and up 15.35% in October 2023. ADA was down 8.82% in October 2024, and down 24.42% in October 2025.

This means that Cardano has had only two out of eight Octobers that closed positive since 2018. For ADA, a sustained reversal would likely require more: buyers would need to take control again, with stronger trading volume and a series of higher highs and higher lows potentially providing confirmation that momentum is improving.

At the time of writing, ADA was down 3.22% in the last 24 hours to $0.247 as crypto bulls take a breather following a strong rally in the past week.

This week, investors turn their focus to a packed macro slate including PCE inflation, ISM manufacturing, and nonfarm payrolls, which could influence Fed rate-hike bets and the broader market.

According to Intersect, the priority for SPOs and node operators remains updating to Node version 11.1.2, while Dijkstra integration continues.

Cardano Node 11.1.2 was released on September 17 as an essential fix for an issue discovered on testnet. While 11.1.2 is not a hard fork-ready release, it represents an important milestone for early impact assessment and integration work.

Haskell and Dingo are already producing blocks on Mainnet, and Amaru and Gerolamo are making progress toward producing blocks on Mainnet.
